On the Use of ASRA for Japanese Assessment and Its Impact on CAPT

Abstract

We shall explore the use of ASRA for Japanese assessment. In particular, the goal of this project is to construct a web site for spoken Japanese assessment, with seamless integration of JavaScript for dynamic web page design, FLASH for recording, and ASRA COM for speech assessment. We shall explain how such a web site is built, and the way we used to evaluation the feasibility of the web site in terms of CAPT (computer-aided pronunciation training).
