In this section, we shall introduce four of the basic features for audio signal processing, including

1. Volume
2. Zero-crossing rate
3. Pitch
4. Timbre

These 4 features are of primary importance for audio signal processing and recognition. Hence we shall also describe how to compute these features quantitatively.
