Microsoft Research Mini-Tour


May 11, Monday, 1:00pm-5:00pm

Microsoft invites you to a "mini-tour" of Microsoft Research. The event will happen in the Microsoft campus in Redmond (about 20min from the ICASSP conference site) on the afternoon preceding the conference. You will attend short presentations and participate in live hands-on demonstrations of some of the ongoing research projects, with emphasis on areas related to Signal Processing.

The event is open free of charge to all ICASSP participants, but pre-registration is required. We encourage you to register early, because space is limited. To register, please send an e-mail message to Henrique Malvar, formatted in the following way:

Program (preliminary)

  • Check-in: May 11, Monday, noon-1:00pm
    Buses from the main conference hotels to the Microsoft campus will be provided.

  • Welcome and Introduction: 1:00-1:15pm
    by Dan Ling, Director, Microsoft Research

  • Presentations: 1:15pm-3:00pm
    by members of the Speech Technology, Natural Language Processing, Decision Theory and Adaptive Systems, Graphics, Vision, and Signal Processing groups.
    An overview of the technologies developed by those groups.

  • Break: 3:00pm-3:30pm
    Refreshments and light snacks will be served

  • Demonstrations: 3:30pm-5:00pm
    Informal, interactive PC-based demonstrations of technologies, by each of the groups mentioned above. Members of the research groups will be available to answer questions from the participants.

  • Check-out:
    Buses from the Microsoft campus back to the main conference hotels will be provided.
