*)  The Acrobat files on this CDROM have file names which are based
    on the paper number of the manuscript (and NOT its page number).
    Refer to \welcome.txt for information about the file naming
    convention.

*   The manuscript for paper #2537 "Development of Robust Speech Recognition
    Moddleware on Microprocessor" is available in two versions:

    AUTHOR  author supplied PDF with severe font problems (due to missing font)
    SCANNED PDF created by substituting a narrow font for the missing font,
            creating a better quality screen and printed result. There may
            still be remaining areas of poor legibility in this manuscript.

*)  Most manuscripts for ICASSP98 were submitted electronically by authors,
    so no paper copy was available for scanning as in previous years.  Due
    to the potential for bad PDF files resulting, such as paper #2537 above,
    Causal has included the postscript files submitted by authors in the
    directory \causal\ps.

    If you have problems with legibility in an acrobat file, you may consider
    printing the postscript file directly to a postscript printer.  
    The naming convention for files in the \causal\ps directory is
    NNNNAAAA.PSZ, where NNNN is the paper number, corresponding to
    the IC98NNNN.PDF file in the \pdf path.  Each file is a raw
    postscript file compressed with GNU GZIP.
